Too Busy to Blog? Try LinkedIn Publishing

We have a blog. Most businesses using social media successfully do. I will admit to sometimes taking a little break and not publishing content as often as we should. My latest reason (read excuse) is that I have just had a baby:)

Today, LinkedIn turned on new functionality on my profile: called Publishing. This nifty little tool allows me to post a mini blog to my LinkedIn profile. These posts can be searched, shared, commented on and followed. They have all the functionality of a blog. This great new feature will help you to establish yourself as a thought leader in your field, on the world’s largest professional networking site.

We did a little test run this morning and this is what it looks like. The functionality includes:

  • LinkedIn Publishing Post

    A LinkedIn Publishing Post

    Traditional desktop text editing tools like bold, italic, underline, strikethrough

  • Uploading an image
  • Formatting to create headings and highlighted text
  • Ability to hyperlink text
  • Like, comment and share features
  • Full social sharing capability to Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn
  • Analytics and statistics of engagement

This is a great new feature for LinkedIn and we encourage you to try it out in your business!
