At 3am this morning (Sydney, Australia time) Mark Zuckerberg announced changes to Facebook. Mashable warned “Prepare yourselves for the evolution of social networking.”
Well the wait is over and the changes have started to roll out. Here’s an overview of the major ones – would love to know what you think!
Timeline – A new kind of profile
Your personal Facebook profile is undergoing a major renovation. According to Facebook “The way your profile works today, 99% of the stories you share vanish. The only way to find the posts that matter is to click “Older Posts” at the bottom of the page. Again. And again.“
This video sums up nicely what it will look like and how it works.
And this is what it will actually look like:
Music, Apps and Images
With free music, apps and better images….how you interact with Facebook is going to change at a rapid rate of the coming days and weeks. Facebook has formed partnerships with Foodily (see cooking go viral) and a partnerships with more than 10 music services will be unveiled through Spotify, iHeartRadio, Rhapsody, Mog, Mixcloud, Rdio, Deezer, Vevo and SoundCloud.
What do you think? Is it all too complicated…..or making things simpler?
